Georgia Homeless Veterans Resources, Inc. (GHVR, Inc.)
GHVR was founded by Ms. Tonya S. Bass on November 3, 2011. Ms. Bass is the President and also a retired United States Army Officer who served honorably for 22+ years as both a Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officer in the Adjutant General Corps (Human Resources) with responsibilities of commanding three units and overseeing, leading, managing and supervising military and civilian personnel. Ms. Bass served several Personnel Support communities and Postal Services Operations in support of the U. S. Army mission requirements which were located throughout the United States, Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands.
Ms. Loyce Cole is a volunteer coordinator with Georgia Homeless Veterans Resources, Inc. (GHVR). She is a graduate of Tampa Technical College in Tampa, Florida and studied further at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. After moving to the Washington, D.C. area, Ms. Cole enjoyed a career of 25 years with the U. S. Department of Education as a Program Manager in the Office of Student Financial Assistance in Washington, D.C. After an early retirement, she assumed the position as the Director of Student Financial Aid for Computer Learning Center in Laurel, Maryland. She currently works part-time as a Mortgage Banker with Washington Home Mortgage in Bethesda, Maryland.

Meet GHVR Board Members:
Jessica Bellard is a Financial Strategist and a graduate of McNeese State University. She is also a Certified Life Coach and Education Consultant. Jessica is an Author and a Speaker that has received numerous awards for her commitment to serve, educate and empower. Jessica is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and Wealthy Sisters. She is the Founder of The Success Bound Group, a health, wealth and wellness business and Women S.P.E.A.K., a non-profit organization.
Ms. Wendy Durham resides in the Atlanta Metro area after retiring from the Army with 26 years of Human Resource experience. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and is active in her community and church. She works for a non-profit organization educating parents on the risks of underage drinking youth 9-20 years old. She has a son who attends Washburn University, Topeka Kansas.
Ms. Nadine Lucas - resides in Dahlgren, Virginia and is a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She is a retired civil service employee who spent 30 years with the Department of the Navy in Dahlgren, Virginia. She is co-founder of Project FAITH (Facilitating Access to Independent Housing) for persons who are elderly or disabled with low income. As a result of her efforts, the project has resulted in three phases of housing construction to serve the target population.
Mr. William Payne is a prominent attorney in the Atlanta Metro area and has a very successful practice in Decatur, Georgia. Mr. Payne earned a Bachelor of Business and Administration degree in 1973 from Georgia State University and successfully received his Jurist Doctorate degree from Stamford University in 1977. He is very active in the community and among his professional associations are: the GA Trial Lawyer Association, GA Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, State Bar of Georgia, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Habitat for Humanity, DeKalb Bar Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Command Sergeants Major Jose Powell, (Retired), began his active duty career with the U.S. Army in 1981 and served extensively throughout the U.S., Germany, and Korea where he has had assignments in numerous capacities. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College and is currently pursing a Master's Degree in Business Administration from South University in Georgia. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal just to name a few.
Mrs. Beverly Townes resides in the Atlanta Metro area with her husband, Larry. She is retired after 29 years of military service and is active in her church and surrounding communities. She received s Bachelor's degree from Fort Valley State University and a Masters from Keller Graduate School of Management. She currently operates her own tax preparation service and travel agency.
Ms. Mary Bryant Tucker resides in the Atlanta, Georgia area and attended Clark Atlanta College (University). She is Chaplain for the Women's Prison in Fulton County, GA, and serves as Activity Chairman of the President's Council of the Good News Ministry for the Atlanta City Detention Center. Ms. Tucker has had the honor and privilege of serving on the Convention Planning Committee for the National Black Churches of America and has received several awards in recognition for her work in the church and community.
Mrs. Maria Webb Gomes currently lives in Washington, D.C. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Television Production from Emerson College in Boston, MA. She has held various management positions with the National Captioning Institute, Henninger Media Services, and Discovery Communications.
